Job Title: Marketing and Communication Specialist (Contractor)

Location: 95% Remote (Must reside in NY Metro Area, Salt Lake City, UT, Phoenix, AZ, or Northern VA) With 1-2 trips per year.

Pay Rate: Starting at $35/hour (potential increase based on experience)

Hours: Minimum 10 hours per week

Birthsmarter is a female-founded, parent-led organization offering nonjudgemental, inclusive and accessible prenatal education across the U.S. Since our founding in 2019, we’ve experienced significant growth, with our award-winning classes disrupting the industry. Our team delivers high-quality, empowering education to expectant parents in New York, Salt Lake, Phoenix, Online, and On-Demand, with (MANY!) more cities coming soon. We’re driven by critical thinking, problem-solving, and improving outdated models of teaching, birthing, and doing business!

We’re seeking a part-time, dynamic, growth-oriented, Marketing and Communication Specialist to strategize and create campaigns that bring our game-changing approach to more families. The ideal candidate will create authentic marketing materials for our social platforms, website, emails, and events by capturing our brand voice and taking the lead on design, video production, and copy writing.

Over the last five years we’ve tried many different strategies when it comes to investing in marketing and have come back time and again to relying on word of mouth referrals. When it comes to social media, for example, we’ve seen high engagement and produced an incredible amount of content that we’re very proud of on Instagram. In the last eight months, however, we’ve chosen to step back from content creation and social engagement to focus on other areas of growth. Given the success of our inaugural Teacher Training Program, we’re ready to breathe new life into our Instagram presence and invest in a Comms strategy across marketing platforms to drive brand awareness and increase revenue. Given our company’s traction and history, we are not looking for someone to reinvent the wheel and we are defintely not looking for someone to plug Birthsmarter into standardized marketing templates. Instead, we’re looking for a creative and detail-oriented individual to thoroughly audit our past efforts and plethora of unpublished content, carve out the hidden gems within Birthsmarter and create a marketing plan that rivals the authenticity of our approach to prenatal education.

This role is 95% remote with occasional hours in NYC, SLC, or PHX to allow for co-working with someone from our leadership team. A minimum commitment of 10 hours per week is required, with flexibility to increase based on project needs. Travel 1 to 2 times per year is expected.
